"That as we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours, and this we should do freely and generously."
Benjamin Franklin

This is the place, as we say around here. These are materials to share with other AP teachers. I have labeled the format of the files as follows.

  1. PDF files.  These files are smaller and will print clearly on any machine.  They require require Adobe Acrobat Reader and will work best with version 7.  You can access the Acrobat Reader, installation program by clicking on the link. When the dialogue box comes up, click on "open" and Acrobat Reader will be installed on your computer.
  2. DOC or RTF files.  Microsoft Word files (doc) or rich text format (rtf) files.  The rich text format files will open and be editable in Microsoft Word or most other word processor programs.
  3. HTML files.  These are web pages.  They can be printed or saved as regular documents. If you want to change them, save the file, then open them in Microsoft Word where they can be edited.

Please feel free to help yourself to anything here.

Essays

This link will take you to a web page that contains the essay prompts from the 1996 released test. Included are 9 essays (1 at each level) written for each essay complete with the comments given by the chief reader. These are linked by the actual scores the essays were awarded by the readers, 1 through 9.
