  1. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is an autobiography, the story of a real life. Maya Angelou relates an incident of child abuse that happened to her when she was very young; she also gets pregnant when she is still in her teens. There is an alternative book.  I need to know before we start reading the book whether or not you will be reading Caged Bird. Semester finals, both prep sheets and tests, will be adjusted to reflect the book you read.
