Summer
Kindergarten Readiness
Schedule: Mon – Thurs
June 23 – July 17; 9:00 – 11:30 AM
Cost $170
A literacy based program with handwriting activities, basic math concepts
and social skills also being addressed. Children will participate in
both large and small group activities as well having opportunities to
interact with their new friends in a more formal classroom atmosphere;
a great way to help prepare children for that big transition into kindergarten..
A minimum payment of $50 is suggested at registration; balance due by
first day of class.
Summer
Bridge to First Grade
Schedule: Mon – Thurs; June 23 – July 17
12:30 – 3:00 PM
Cost $170
This class provides a positive transition to first grade and will help
your child retain skills learned in kindergarten. Academics are the
focus of this class and it will be based on the particular needs of
the students enrolled. The teacher is certified and will gather information
on each student before the class begins so that all areas of concern
can be addressed.

Summer Adventure Program
Summer Adventure Schedule: Mon – Thurs
9–11:30 AM: Sessions 3 - $120; Session 2 - $115
Morning Adventure: The original Summer Adventure program with emphasis
on discovery, literacy and FUN!
12:30– 3 PM: Sessions 3 - $120; Session 2 - $115
Afternoon Adventure: This program features the same themes with an emphasis
on physical & social activities.
Themes:
Session 1: ended
Session 2: June 30–July 17: Once Upon A Time, Fairy Tales, Mother
Goose/Puppet Playhouse!
Session 3: July 21–Aug 7: Super Adventures; Blast Off, Abracadabra
and Wet ‘n Wild!
The
Summer Adventure program for preschoolers offers three separate sessions
similar to day camp. Each week will focus on a new theme with special
activities on Thursdays. Children ages 3 – 5 are welcome. Register
at the center or by mail: Murray Community Education, 5440 South State
Street, Room 137; by phone using a credit card, 264-7414. Summer Adventure
classes must have 12 students enrolled to carry!
All
classes meet at the Early Childhood Education Center, 73 West 6100 South.

Special
Education files of students born prior to 1981 will soon be destroyed.
Parents or students may claim them if desired. The deadline for claiming
files is August 1, 2008. You will need to bring proper identification
for verification to access to this information. For additional information
or to make an appointment to pick up a file, contact Murray City School
