About Hillcrest Junior High School:
School schedule – 8:05 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.; Thursday is Preparation Day with school hours 8:05 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.
Enrollment – Hillcrest Junior High serves approximately 700 students from 7th through 9th grades.
School promotion – Students promoted from Hillcrest attend Murray High School.
Mascot – Hillcrest Gladiators
School Colors – Royal Blue & White
Building History – The original structure was built in 1911 as Hillcrest School and served grades 1-8. From 1913-16 there was a change to a student body of 7th-12th graders. From 1916-54 the school was renamed Murray High and Junior High, and then served specifically as Murray Junior High from 1954-1960. The building was once again renamed to the current name of Hillcrest Junior High in the 1960-61 school year. Over the years there have been many additions and structural changes to the building complex.
