Did you know that the Murray City School District’s (MCSD) program for Safe and Orderly Schools helps district officials handle ANY situation that could potentially harm students, staff, and visitors? But it also creates a framework to foster a positive and orderly learning environment.
Actions that are deemed threatening or hostile (physically or verbally) are strictly prohibited and dealt with swiftly. MCSD’s policy outlines specific behaviors that are grounds for suspension or expulsion. Parents, guardians, and students are given a copy of the policy at the beginning of each school year. It is also reinforced when there is a violation, and can also be accessed on this website at any time.
The policy also spells out specific consequences and measured steps to address violations, and has provisions for students making positive progress. MCSD also follows steps of “Due Process” as outlined in the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, to protect the rights of students and employees.
