The application window for Horizon Elementary’s Dual Language Immersion program will be open from January 30, 2023, until February 17, 2023. Any kindergarten-aged student starting the first grade in fall 2023 may apply. A lottery will be held to determine entrance into the program if the number of applicants exceeds the seats available.
Elementary students in the dual language immersion program spend half the day learning core subjects in English and the other half learning in a target language (Spanish). The program continues through high school, where students can work to pass the Advanced Placement exam in 9th or 10th grade and take college-level courses for early college credit.
Please note that students with siblings who are currently enrolled at Horizon must still submit applications by the Feb. 17, 2023, deadline. Also, applications must include an out-of-boundary permit before applying for the program.
Murray City residents will be given priority when making placement decisions. Parents will be notified of placement or waitlist offers by February 24, 2023.
