Governor Spencer Cox has announced that the public health order regarding masks in public schools will no longer be in effect during the final week of school. For Murray City School District, this is May 24-28, 2021. Our approved MCSD Returning with Care action plan established we will follow state public health orders – which we have consistently done.

As such, MCSD will also no longer require masks among personnel and students beginning the week of May 24. It should be emphasized that while masks will no longer be required as of May 24, students, personnel, and visitors may continue to wear them if they choose.

We ask for all to be mutually respectful of individual and family choices.  If families choose not to send their children to school on the last week of school, we ask that they work with their teachers to support their students in completing schoolwork for the year.

We want to thank our Murray families, their students, and our educators for their diligence in following health protocols during the 2020-21 school year, particularly those requiring masks. Moving forward, we will continue to monitor conditions, seek guidance from our local health department, and follow any additional public health orders.
