The Murray City School District is excited to announce groundbreaking ceremonies for two significant projects aimed at enhancing educational facilities and accommodating growing student needs.
Riverview Junior High School Rebuild
- Date: April 25, 2025, at 3:15 p.m.
- Location: Riverview Junior High School Campus
Originally constructed in 1961, Riverview Junior High has been a cornerstone of the community for over six decades. The upcoming rebuild will address critical infrastructure needs, including outdated electrical systems, inefficient heating and cooling, and deteriorating roofs and plumbing. The new facility will feature modern classrooms, advanced science labs, a centralized library, performing arts spaces, and a commons area, all designed to foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Murray High School Addition
- Date: June 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
- Location: Murray High School
In response to the district’s decision to transition ninth-grade students to the high school, a new classroom wing will be added to Murray High School. This addition aims to provide the necessary space and resources to support the increased student population and enhance educational opportunities. The project also includes security enhancements to ensure a safe learning environment for all students and staff.
These projects are made possible through the approval of a $125 million general obligation bond by Murray residents in November 2024, reflecting the community’s commitment to investing in the future of its educational institutions.
Community members, students, and staff are invited to attend these ceremonies to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in the district’s history.
