The MCSD Board of Education has approved an update to the district-wide Bell Schedule for elementary schools beginning the 2022-23 school year. This change gives elementary school teachers preparation time each day they have not had previously but necessitates a new start time of 8:40 am each day.
Effective teaching includes the implementation of curricular standards and learning plans that address individual student needs. This additional time gives teachers the ability to process and integrate effective strategies and interventions, review student data from multiple sources, and provide real-time learning feedback.
We appreciate your understanding as this daily preparation and planning time for our elementary teachers conclusively allows them to serve students better. No other changes to the schedule are necessary, and secondary schools will remain on the same schedule.
