The following administrators are assuming new principal assignments for the 2022-2023 school year:
- Mindy Ball, currently the Principal of Grant Elementary, will become the Principal of Horizon Elementary.
- Jill Burnside, currently the Principal of Liberty Elementary, will become the Principal of Grant Elementary.
The Murray City School District thanks both of these outstanding administrators for the work they have done at their current schools and looks forward to the leadership they bring to their new assignments.
The District also thanks Principal Anderson, who will leave the district at the end of the school year. We thank her for her many years of dedicated service at Horizon Elementary.
The Murray City School District Board of Education has appointed the following two administrators who will begin their assignment on July 1, 2022:
- Lisa Young, Principal of Liberty Elementary
- Samuel Salinas, Assistant Principal of Hillcrest Jr. High School
Principal Young has been in education for 20 years. Her experience as an administrator spans eight years, having been a principal of two different schools in Utah and Arizona, and as an Education Specialist at the Utah State Board of Education. In addition, she taught at schools in Nevada and Utah. She holds degrees in Psychology and Educational Leadership and is currently working on a degree in Indigenous Education.
Assistant Principal Salinas has been in education for 26 years. His experience as an administrator spans 14 years, having been an assistant principal of two different schools in Utah and the Director of Extension at a state university in La Paz, Baja, California. In addition, he taught at schools in Utah, California, and Baja. He holds degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, History, and Educational Leadership. Assistant Principal Salinas will fill the position currently held by Assistant Principal Megan Orme, who will leave the district at the end of the school year. We thank Assistant Principal Orme for her many years of dedicated service at Hillcrest Junior High and Riverview Junior High.
