The Murray PTA Reflections Chair Jamie Cheney reports that the district had 220 Reflections entries this year. From that total, 27 will now advance to the state PTA competition in March.
This year’s national Reflections theme, “Accepting Imperfection,” was the catalyst for work submitted by an estimated 300,000 students nationwide, representing pre-K through grade 12. Categories include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, 2D and 3D Visual Art.
This 50+ year-old program helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. National PTA has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.
Results of the statewide competition will be posted in April. But for now, here’s a complete list of all winners, including the top 27 entries advancing (Those receiving Awards of Excellence advance). A huge congratulations to all our amazing students who worked so hard on their skills and submissions, and a big shout out to our Murray PTA and parent volunteers for making this event possible this and every year.
