The Murray City School District (MCSD) proudly partners with Friends for Sight and their annual Sightfest event, providing free eye exams and glasses to those who qualify.

Your child qualifies to participate in Sightfest if they:

  1. Failed their vision screening, AND
  2. Do not have medical insurance or Medicaid that covers a vision exam or glasses.

If you cannot get an eye doctor evaluation for your child and need assistance, contact us. This invitation includes students whose glasses are lost or broken and require replacement. To take advantage of this opportunity, please sign and return this permission slip (also available at school offices) by Friday, December 3, 2021. You may also call Paulette Staley at 801-264-7400 Ext. 5537 or Shanda Echohawk at 801-264-7400 Ext, 5050 for more information.

Sightfest will occur during school on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the MCSD Office (5102 S. Commerce Drive, Building #1, Murray). Qualifying students will receive a free professional eye exam and pick out a pair of free eyeglasses (if they are needed). Glasses will be sent to your child’s school approximately three weeks following the event. Please reach out soon if your student qualifies and will participate as transportation services are available.

If you have questions or concerns, contact MCSD Nurses Paulette Staley, RN or Shanda Echohawk, RN.
