Each year, Administrative Professionals Day gives us a chance to highlight the behind-the-scenes heroes who keep our schools running smoothly. At Murray City School District, our administrative support professionals are the heartbeat of each building—keeping operations organized, communication flowing, and students and staff supported in countless ways.

Across the district, we have more than 35 administrative professionals serving in roles ranging from school secretaries and office assistants to registrars and executive support staff. Collectively, they handle thousands of phone calls, emails, and attendance records each week, not to mention coordinating everything from parent communication and enrollment paperwork to school events and staff support. Many serve as the welcoming face of our schools, setting the tone for a positive experience the moment students, families, or visitors walk through the door.

Beyond their day-to-day tasks, these professionals are true multitaskers and problem-solvers. A recent survey showed that 80% of administrative professionals in K-12 settings regularly manage responsibilities outside their original job description—demonstrating their flexibility, commitment, and vital contribution to the whole school community.

As we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day on April 23, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to these dedicated individuals. Their professionalism, care, and attention to detail make a difference in every corner of our schools. Whether it’s calming a nervous student, troubleshooting a system glitch, or helping a teacher prepare for the day, our administrative support professionals are truly the glue that holds our district together. Thank you for all you do.
