Murray City School District Open Enrollment for 2026-27: Your Child's Future Starts Here!

The Murray City School District (MCSD) is excited to announce the start of our Open Enrollment season for the 2026-27 school year begins November 15. Each year in Utah, families may submit an application for their student to attend a public school other than their designated neighborhood school, with acceptance based primarily on space availability and school-specific criteria.

Key Deadlines and Application Window
Families residing outside of Murray boundaries, as well as qualifying current students, have a specific window to apply:

	Application Opens: November 15 at 8:00 AM 
- 
	Application Deadline: February 7 at 5:00 PM 
- 
	Notification Date: Non-resident applicants will be notified by email by March 31, 2025. (Please check your SPAM folder!) 
Who Needs to Apply?
Open Enrollment is required only for students in one of the following categories:
- 
	New Out-of-Boundary Students: Students who live outside the MCSD boundary and wish to enroll for the first time. 
- 
	Transitioning Non-Residents: Current students living outside the district boundary who are transitioning from elementary to junior high or junior high to high school. 
- 
	In-District Transfers: Current students living within the district boundary who wish to attend a different school within MCSD than their assigned neighborhood school. 
Note: All other students do not need to re-enroll through this process. If your student currently attends MCSD on an Open Enrollment permit and is not transitioning schools (e.g., from elementary to junior high), you generally do not need to reapply.
Simple 2-Step Online Application Process
All Open Enrollment registration is completed quickly and conveniently online. Only a parent or legal guardian may enroll a student.

	Pay the Application Fee: Go here to pay the non-refundable $5 application fee. 
- 
	Complete the Enrollment Application: The official online application will be live from November 15 at 8:00 am until the deadline. 
Important: Only one application is permitted per student, meaning you can only select one school for enrollment.
