MCSD to Host to Host “Family AI Adventure” at Murray High

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the educational landscape, Murray City School District (MCSD) is opening its doors to help families navigate this new digital frontier. On Monday, April 20, 2026, Murray High School will host “A Family AI Adventure: No Homework, Just Play,” an interactive event designed to bridge the gap between classroom innovation and daily home life.
The evening is structured as a series of fast-paced, informative sessions aimed at demystifying AI and providing parents with practical tools for student wellness and academic success.
Addressing Wellness and Innovation
The event kicks off at 5:00 PM with Sierra Marsh, MCSD Prevention Specialist. Marsh will lead a discussion on student wellness, sharing key takeaways from the SHARP survey and offering resources to help parents manage "tech consumption" in an increasingly connected world.
Following the wellness session, Ben Scoville, a teacher at Hillcrest Jr. High, will provide a "behind-the-curtain" look at the modern classroom. Scoville’s presentation will focus on the reality of AI in schools—moving past the hype to show exactly how educators are leveraging these tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
Hands-On "Parent Playground"
The final hour of the night transforms the Murray High Choral Room into a "Parent Playground." Led by Ed-Tech Coaches Geri Smith and Justine Hampton, this session invites parents to get hands-on with the technology. Participants will have the opportunity to experience Skill Struck’s Chat for Schools tutor and other AI platforms from the perspective of an MCSD student.
Event Details
District officials emphasize that the event is designed for flexibility; families are welcome to attend the entire evening or drop in for specific segments that interest them most.
