Help Murray Students Think Big: PTA Seeks Science & Engineering Fair Leader

Every great scientific discovery starts with a single question. For hundreds of Murray City School District students, the annual Science & Engineering Fair is where those questions come to life. It’s a launching pad where hands-on STEM learning transforms into critical thinking, real-world problem-solving, and lifelong curiosity. To keep this incredible tradition thriving, the Murray Region PTA is on the lookout for its next Science Fair Chair.
Why This Role Matters to Our Students
This isn't just about organizing tri-fold boards; it’s about giving Murray students a stage to tackle meaningful, real-world challenges. As the Science Fair Chair and a vital member of the PTA Region Board, you will coordinate with passionate volunteers across the district to support local school fairs.
Even more exciting, you will work closely with the University of Utah Science & Engineering Fair (USEF). By organizing and overseeing our district-wide fair, you provide our bright young minds with the direct opportunity to advance to USEF, showcase their brilliance on a larger stage, and even compete for cash prizes.
What the Commitment Looks Like
You don't need a PhD to make a massive impact. This role is highly manageable and fits beautifully into a busy schedule:
- Monthly: A couple of evenings a month throughout the school year for planning and collaboration.
- Annually: A couple of days a year dedicated to running the Murray School District fair and volunteering at the USEF event.
By stepping into this role, you ensure that Murray students continue to have access to vital STEM pathways that shape their academic and future professional careers.
