Precinct 4 (northwest Murray) | Term through Dec. 2026

Elizabeth Payne represents Precinct 4 in Central Murray and is serving her second four-year term on the Murray City School District Board. She has been a member of the board since 2019 and has served as both the vice president and president of the Murray City School Board Coordinating Council.

As a mother of four school-aged children, Elizabeth is passionate about making a difference in their lives and the broader community. Her commitment to public service is deeply rooted in her belief that every child deserves equitable access to quality education.

Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology with a minor in family and human development from Utah State University and also attended UNLV for graduate studies in anthropology. Currently, she works as a youth counselor at a behavioral health hospital, where she supports young people in navigating challenges and building brighter futures.

In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys traveling, camping, and hiking. To date, she has visited 17 countries, 40 U.S. states, and 20 national parks, experiences that have broadened her perspective and strengthened her resolve to advocate for students in her community.

Elizabeth is inspired by Malala Yousafzai’s words: “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution.”
