parent at workMCSD adopted ParentSquare as our primary tool for parent communication in 2020. Over the years, this multi-pronged application has proven invaluable to the connectivity and engagement with our Murray families.

ParentSquare’s flexibility with individualized classroom communication and district-wide notifications streamlines our ability to keep Murray parents informed. We value timely and accurate information to our community. To help us achieve that, please consider the following seven tips and tricks for using ParentSquare.

  1. Set Up and Maintain Your Account: Ensure you have created your ParentSquare account and linked it to your family’s school(s). You will need to create an account using the email address provided to the school. Keep your information (phone and email) in Aspire current, as ParentSquare connects with Aspire daily to update ParentSquare contacts.
  2. Customize your Notifications: Customize your notification settings to receive updates via email, text message, or the ParentSquare app. You can choose which types of notifications you want to receive and how often you receive them. Please note that we can override notification settings when MCSD or your school needs to communicate time-sensitive information.
  3. Use the Mobile App: Download the ParentSquare mobile app to stay connected on the go. Though you can receive ParentSquare messaging by email, text, and voicemail, the app makes it easier to locate and track all messages, calendar items, and more.
  4. Check the Calendar: Check the calendar regularly to stay up-to-date on school events, holidays, and other important dates. School activities and volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, and parent-teacher conferences are proven ways to help your student with their academic performance.
  5. Communicate with Teachers: Use ParentSquare to communicate directly with your child’s teachers. You can send messages, ask questions, and get updates on your child’s progress. This, too, is a key way to help your child thrive in school.

If you are not receiving information regularly through ParentSquare, check your settings and contact your school’s administrator. We appreciate your use of ParentSquare and are mindful of its importance in keeping you informed.
