The Murray Board of Education approved school calendars for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years at their December 8 Board meeting.
Please note that school will begin for the general population on August 21 for the 2023-24 school year and end on June 6. The following 2024-25 school year students will return on August 19 and conclude on June 5.
Parents, teachers, and administrators were given the opportunity to express their thoughts on these calendars in an October survey. District administrators reviewed that information, and drafts of potential calendars were presented to the Board in November, ahead of their approval on December 8.
Both years include breaks for Fall, Winter, and Spring. And students have additional full and half days off sprinkled in that allow teachers time to complete training and perform other job duties outside of classroom hours. By law, schools must be in session for 180 days.
