This year’s Murray City School District PTA Science Fair was packed with infinite innovation and a plethora of promising polymaths. Students from across the District were invited to develop their own projects, proudly displaying them for judges, parents, and students.

All 48 students who entered a total of 28 projects deserve a round of applause, but the following 18 students (representing 12 projects) move on to the University of Utah Science and Engineering fair competition. They are:

  • Murray High School- Jameson Thackeray – Goethermal Thermoelectric Conducts
  • Hillcrest Jr. High-  Erika Berge and Ella Winston – Does Color affect flavor?
  • Viewmont Elementary- Preston Marshall – What can cause a plant to grow
  • Viewmont Elementary- Ty Cheney, Kyle Scheid, Cash Koontz – H20 Detector
  • Viewmont Elementary- London Joseph, Emery Hansen, Paislee Olsen – Don’t be salty.
  • Longview Elementary- Noelle Thackeray – Pungent 2 Posh
  • Longview Elementary- Sophisticating Thompson – Drone Driving
  • McMillan Elementary-Liam Cook – Dissolving Starbursts
  • McMillan Elementary-Charolette Jacobsen – Facetime
