Grant Elementary School Principal Mindy Ball was chosen as MCSD and Utah Association of Elementary School Principals Principal of the Year. This honor sets her up to be nominated for National Distinguished Principal, which will be announced in May.
Mindy has been principal at Grant since 2017, after having served as a kindergarten teacher at Viewmont Elementary for 14 years. Under her leadership, Mindy has brought the community together to celebrate student learning and boasts some of the highest Pathways of Progress scores in Reading at MCSD. Her focus on reading and math is only equaled by her enthusiasm for student wellness and safety.
On any given day, Mrs. Ball is on the playground or gym hosting dance parties, punching cards to incentivize attendance, handing out pathways prizes for students reaching their math or reading goals, and organizing their monster YES! Day fundraiser.
