Murray PTA makes an impact on teachers and administrators as we work together to build a quality learning culture for students.

It’s no secret that public education has historically struggled to maintain adequate funding. PTAs shoulder some of that burden by organizing fundraisers that pay for school supplies, snacks for students, and even expensive items such as field trips and facility enhancements. All of these help educators focus on learning strategies that help students.

Many PTA parents also step into their schools and classrooms to provide volunteer support. Reading to kids, managing classroom behavior, and helping kids who struggle with basic 1:1 support. This student and teacher advocacy is meaningful to educators as it extends their capacity to connect with their students.

Finally, PTA members influence public policy by following education bills created by lawmakers. They help legislators understand issues and what it’s like at ground zero in public education. They have a unique perspective as engaged parents and can offer important input and direction in how education is governed in Murray and at the state level.

The PTA would love to have you join them in making a difference for Murray students. Membership is only $5 per year and pays for programs, activities, and supports that benefit all children. You can also get involved as a PTA volunteer. For more information, go to www.murraypta.org.
