Vape SensorMurray City School District wants to inform you about an important safety measure we are implementing in all schools. In our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for learning, we are installing vape sensors in all school bathrooms.

The rise in vaping among students is a concern that MCSD and many schools across the nation are addressing. By installing these sensors, we aim to create a safer space for our students and discourage the use of vaping products within the school premises. Our goal is to promote a healthy and conducive learning environment for everyone.

The vape sensors are designed to detect the presence of vapor from e-cigarettes and similar devices. The sensors will also detect aggression (such as a fight) and gunshots.

Please be assured that the sensors are solely focused on identifying these safety concerns and will not compromise the privacy of individuals in any way. The data collected will be used exclusively for monitoring and enforcing the school’s safe and orderly schools, tobacco-free environment and drug and alcohol policies.

We understand the importance of open communication and collaboration with parents, and we encourage you to discuss the dangers of vaping with your child.

We appreciate your support as we work together to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our students.

If you have questions, please get in touch with your student’s school administration.
